The RUSH College Showcase is meant to provide hockey players the opportunity to showcase themselves on ice to American and Canadian college/university scouts. The “Show” provides the skills, resources and platform necessary to reach the ultimate goal of post-secondary hockey. Historically, 24-30 teams are in attendance.
Over 80 coaches and scouts will be present to mentor and assess players on-ice, behind the bench, conducting seminars and watching games. Their presence is intended to provide an educational component to the fun and competitive environment.
GENERAL SCHEDULE GUIDELINES
Friday: Registration/practice day – players will receive their custom-made RUSH jersey and socks. There will be a one-hour, on-ice practice and 2, 30-minute scrimmages. This will be a friendly warm-up.
Saturday: 2 games (2, 25-minute periods, stop time)
Sunday: 2 games (2, 25-minute periods, stop time)
Monday: Playoff day (1, 30-minute period, stop time). Event will be completed by 4pm.
Additional Showcase Components
- Fitness testing (optional)
- Educational seminars (pre-scheduled): topics to be posted
- Valuable time with collegiate coaches on and off the ice!
Players will be placed on teams of 10 forwards, 6 defense and 2 goalies.
RUSH Hockey is responsible for creating teams. Participants may communicate teammate requests to RUSH staff, however, no more than 5 members from the same 2017-2018 winter club teams may play on the same RUSH team. This is to maintain fairness, competitive balance, and to ensure players are given the opportunity to meet other players.
Once rosters are posted online, there will be NO changes. Rosters and activity schedules will be posted 7-10 days before the event.
Registration fees are non-refundable. Certain exceptions may apply (i.e. player injury), however, refunds occur in the form of credit.
Please note a $75 (CAD) fee will be charged for NSF cheques.
RUSH Hockey reserves the right to change the tournament date due to emergency circumstances without refund of the registration fee.
